    Looking for a gift for my gf, do you prefer the go or the now polaroid camera? Im struggling to choose which one to buy. The go's compact design is definitely a big plus, also the film that's cheaper. But I can get them both for around the same price, so which do you think is the "better" option?

    Great review! It's concise and full of personality. Yay bees! 🐝 I was excited to see the camera because I love the look and color. I've had the Mini 70 for a long time and really enjoy it! I'm not familiar with the wide models; this review was helpful in showing what features the Wide 400 has, especially relative to predecessors and other models. It would be great to see more wide models with additional features. The add-on lens seems super handy.

    7:15 It's the size of the lens elements and design that dictates the maximum opening. So to make it faster they'd need to redesign the lens. And if you make it larger, you lose depth of field.

    Being around this camera convinced me that I needed a Pentax Auto 110. Not because this is bad, but because it made me realise that 110 is awesome, and the idea of a pocket SLR tickled my fancy. Don't ask me how, but when I heard there was finally going to be another glass-lensed Lomo camera I was already overjoyed, the fact that it ended up being this little gem that looks like a walkman from an alternate universe is just incredibly neat

    Thank you Ben for another amazing video about instax wide format camera. I have been an Instax wide camera user since 2010 and have been quite disappointed in Fujifilm because fujifllm didn’t invest much resource to promote the wide format compared to the instax mini and instax Square. After watching this video (I have not been keeping an eye on Instax new camera release), I felt disappointed and I am now genuinely worried about the future of Instax wide. It seems like someone or some team created this new model to make sure sales of wide format camera fail, which will give them the final straw to terminate any future development of Instax camera for wide format (“See? We released a new model in 2024 and no one is buying wide format camera anymore. It’s just a fact!”). I am saying this because this Instax camera shows nothing but regression-no new feature and no control on anything. What’s the point of releasing a new model with no new feature that persuades old model users to purchase, and attracts new users? I am worried and furious. I am sticking to my Instax 500AF until I see some heart in Fujifilm for Instax wide format (got it in 2010 on Yahoo auction when I lived in Tokyo.)

      Couldn’t recommend this less if that’s your preference!! But as for instant cameras with more controls, the more expensive I-2 (Polaroid), InstantFlex TL70+ (Mint), Nons SL660 (Nons), and Lomography’s camera lineup are all options, though at a more premium cost than this point & shoot. Thanks so much for checking out the channel and welcome back to the fold!!

    Fujifilm on their remote island probably just lost the expertise to include flash off and longer exposure times in that bigger format. At least the self timer/tripod mount is a good new feature but that aside there is no need to upgrade from 210/300 models you can get for $50 on the used market. You so well expressed what people long for and expect from a new Fujifilm Instax Wide camera!

    I’m getting it to replace my 300 because of the twist on/off feature and timer. There’s a bit of paranoia in me that it will somehow turn on inside my bag and break. And there has been a few close calls when taking it out of my bag so I’d say my paranoia is justified. Plus, how did the 300 have a tripod mount and not have a timer feature???

    • @InAnInstant
      @InAnInstant 14 днів тому

      It only does that on Instax film, not Polaroid. Instax film has a limitation in which certain degrees of overexposure will result in “solarization” which effectively inverts the image. If you overexpose the entire image enough (which is only possible on manual cameras), the entire image inverts into a negative! If you’re curious about this please check out my Mint InstantFlex SF70 video in which we intentionally used it to solarize Instax Square images, and then converted them back to positives.

    I feel like Fuji is constantly giving the community middle fingers and yet everything they sell, such as the digital camera and instax film, are selling like crazy. I don't think they care anymore.

    • @InAnInstant
      @InAnInstant 14 днів тому

      Fujifilm never did particularly care about the “community” so to speak, as their products originate from the pre-digital era in which an analog community wasn’t a relevant concept. Ever since 1999, they have produced products to reach the broadest audience possible. They have conversely discontinued many non-instant film stocks BECAUSE they have become far more niche products that only core “film photographers” would buy (a niche market sector that literally didn’t exist until recently).

    Didn't the current Polaroid company only start after the entire Polaroid manufacturing chain was dismantled? It seems that the Polaroid film of today will never be like the Polaroid film of yesterday. So, Instax seems the only choice for instant film now. Glad that the wide is back. That is the one camera I would consider. I would want there to be an upgraded version with a glass lens, though.

    • @InAnInstant
      @InAnInstant 14 днів тому

    If they'd added the ability to manually control the flash I'd have bought five of them already. Why didn't they include that... not having the ability to manually control the flash takes me back to my mini 8 days where I used to carry around a little seashell that was perfectly shaped and sized for covering up the flash when I knew it would overexpose my image.
